Family Portraits in Boston, MA

Based in Sharon, MA, I photograph families large and small across the Boston area. Celebrate milestones or update outdated photos with a portrait session customized for your family.

Why Book a Family Photoshoot

So, your baby is growing, you might have added another one, or your children are heading to college. Whatever your position in life may be, we are all changing all the time, especially our children. Photography cannot actually stop time, but it can freeze a slice of life to preserve for the future. When you find yourself in the next chapter of your personal journey, these images will be a cherished reminder of “way back when.”

What to Expect from Family Portrait Sessions

My approach to family photography is candid and fun, and I aim to create a series of photos that not only documents what your family looks like right now but also captures your dynamics and how you love and interact with each other.

We will schedule a phone call to discuss your preferences and pick a location that everyone would enjoy. I am happy to photograph your family at your favorite place – lake, a park, a city – or I can give you suggestions of great portrait locations in the Boston area. When we talk, we will also discuss what to wear, and I will provide you with my recommendations tailored to your family.

When to Book a Family Session

Family sessions can be booked at any time of the year. Spring, summer, fall, and winter all have their own advantages. Even though winter can be difficult for scheduling outdoor portraits when it snows, the photos are gorgeous.

Fall foliage in New England is the best in the country, and the Boston area has plenty of locations to show off the changing leaves and seasons. Summertime is lush and green, and springtime is fresh and not too hot.

Go for variety! If you have done a summer session in the past, this year, try a fall one. If you have never done any professional family photos, pick the season that most of your family members would prefer.

I book family photos any day of the week and am happy to accommodate busy schedules. The time of the day can vary depending on the season and the weather, but I recommend mornings or early afternoons for young children.
