Top Boston Headshot Photographer, MA

Are you dreading booking a photo session because your old photos no longer reflect how you look? Or maybe you're just starting out and need a brand new professional headshot here in Boston?

I can help!

We’re a full-service professional studio that offers headshots people actually enjoy taking—and love using on LinkedIn, websites, and all their socials.

I work with people from all walks of life: doctors, writers, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, scientists, real estate agents, small business owners, and students. Even if you don’t think you’re photogenic or feel nervous about being in front of the camera, I want to reassure you: it’s not as bad as you think!

In fact, I’m confident you’ll be surprised by how easy and relaxed the process is—and you’ll walk away with images you’ll be proud to share and use for a long time.

Why Are Headshots Important?

Whether you’re a lawyer, a CEO, or an aspiring musician, a great headshot is essential. It gives people a sense of who you are—before you even say a word. It also communicates professionalism to potential clients, investors, employers, or collaborators.

But more than that, a headshot you love can boost your confidence. It can inspire you to take risks, put yourself out there, and tackle new opportunities with a stronger sense of self. It’s a powerful tool that can open doors—sometimes in ways you don’t expect.

For actors, dancers, models, and other performers, your headshot is your business card. A crisp, clean headshot can be the reason you get called in for an audition!

Your headshot should clearly show what you look like—and just as importantly, capture different aspects of your personality. For models, this typically includes a close-up of the face, a three-quarter length photo, and a full-body shot. For actors, a close-up is essential, as casting directors want to see your facial features and expressions clearly.

Importance of Your Clothing Choice

A lot of us take countless photos of ourselves or each other and don’t really think about what we’re wearing in the moment—or whether our clothes even matter. Especially when we’re just snapping a quick selfie in front of the Eiffel Tower, right? At that moment, it doesn’t matter.

But when the time comes to get professional headshots—say, for LinkedIn—we need to make a conscious decision about what to wear. The obvious question arises: How important is your choice of clothing in professional photos?

You’ve probably guessed it by now: clothing matters a lot. What you wear can give subtle cues to the viewer about your profession, a glimpse into your personality, and even your likes and dislikes. It can add so much to your image before anyone meets you in person. Your outfit can help communicate whether you’re confident, organized, approachable, someone who will fight for your client, solve their problems, or earn their trust. It’s a complementary visual tool—one more way to tell your story.

Every time I book a headshot session with a client, we talk about what to wear. And the answer isn’t always simple—it depends on many factors like how the photos will be used, your profession, your skin and hair color, body type, and more. While there are general guidelines that work for most people, choosing the right look is truly individual. That’s why we’ll talk it through ahead of time and look at your wardrobe together to find the best options for your session.

So, How Do You Prepare for Your Headshot Session?

For ladies, I recommend taking the time to do your hair and makeup. It doesn’t need to be professionally done—unless you want that—as long as you feel confident. For guys, a fresh haircut, clean shave, or trimmed beard goes a long way. For more tips on make up look here.

You’re welcome to bring a few different shirts or tops so we can create a variety of looks during your session.

If you’re unsure about what to wear, feel free to send me a photo of your options—I’ll happily give you honest feedback. A good rule of thumb: if it’s distracting in any way, skip it. Avoid busy patterns and loud or neon colors, especially for business headshots.

And finally, get a good night’s sleep and drink plenty of water the day before. Looking well-rested makes a real difference in your photos!
