Top Boston Headshot Photographer, MA

I am pretty sure that if you are viewing this page, you might be in need of a new professional headshot in Boston or possibly branding photos for your business or personal brand. You might be super excited or kind of dreading having to contact a professional photographer about it. Either way, don’t worry, I am here to help you sort this through as easily as possible!

First of all, welcome to my page. I am happy you landed here, because if you choose to work with me as your Boston headshot photographer, you will be able to proudly use your new portraits for LinkedIn, your website, marketing materials, and social media.

I have been creating professional headshots and business portraits for many years and have worked with hundreds of clients of different ages, heights, sizes, skin tones, and ethnicities. Whether you need corporate headshots, personal branding photos, or modern business portraits, you will be in good hands, and my process is very streamlined.

Why Your Headshot Matters, Especially Around Boston

Let’s be honest most of us don’t love being in front of the camera. But here’s the thing: your headshot really does matter. It’s often the first impression someone gets of you, and in a busy place like Boston, where opportunities move fast, having a photo that actually feels like you can make a big difference.

Your photo tells your story (before you even speak), before someone clicks on your LinkedIn, website, or profile, they see your face. That photo instantly communicates something about you. The question is: does your current headshot show people what you want them to see?

When I take headshots in my Norwood studio (just outside Boston), my goal is to create images that feel like you on your best day relaxed, authentic, and totally comfortable in your own skin.

So when should you update your headshot?

If it’s been more than a couple of years… or if you're still using a photo from a wedding or a vacation it’s probably time. A fresh, professional headshot can quietly give you that extra confidence boost, whether you're applying for a new role, building your business, or just showing up with more intention online.

I have worked with clients from all over the Greater Boston area, including Newton, Sharon, Needham, and beyond, and I know how important it is to feel at ease during your headshot session. That is why I help with everything, from suggesting outfits to guiding your expression and giving you direction that feels natural, not stiff or awkward.

Headshots Are for Everyone Now

It used to be just actors and executives getting headshots, but now we all need one. If you’re in healthcare, law, tech, real estate, education or running your own business a great headshot isn’t a luxury anymore. It’s part of how you show up professionally and connect with others.

And honestly? It just feels good to have a photo of yourself you actually like. (No cropping someone else out of the frame required.)

If this resonates and you’re thinking, “Yeah… it might be time,” I’d love to chat. My sessions are relaxed, collaborative, and focused on making you look and feel your best. We’ll take care of all the little details and you’ll walk away with a headshot that actually works for you.

Whether you’re a lawyer, a CEO, or an aspiring musician, a great headshot is essential. It gives people a sense of who you are before you even say a word. It also communicates professionalism to potential clients, investors, employers, or collaborators.

But more than that, a headshot you love can boost your confidence. It can inspire you to take risks, put yourself out there, and tackle new opportunities with a stronger sense of self. It’s a powerful tool that can open doors sometimes in ways you don’t expect.

Importance of Your Clothing Choice

You’ve probably guessed it by now: clothing matters in general and in headshots in particular. What you wear can give subtle cues to the viewer about your profession, a glimpse into your personality, and even your likes and dislikes. It can add so much to your image before anyone meets you in person. Your outfit can help communicate whether you’re confident, organized, approachable, someone who will fight for your client, solve their problems, or earn their trust. It’s a complementary visual tool one more way to tell your story.

Every time I book a headshot session with a client, we talk about what to wear. And the answer isn’t always simple it depends on many factors like how the photos will be used, your profession, your skin and hair color, body type, and more. While there are general guidelines that work for most people, choosing the right look is truly individual. That’s why we’ll talk it through ahead of time and look at your wardrobe together to find the best options for your session.

So, How Do You Prepare for Your Headshot Session?

Before any session that I photograph we will go over the details on the phone and you will receive appropriate information through the email.

For ladies, I recommend taking the time to do your hair and makeup. It doesn’t need to be professionally done but should reflect your image as if you were going to an interview or giving a talk. For guys, a fresh haircut, clean shave, or trimmed beard goes a long way. For more tips on make up look here.

You’re welcome to bring a few different shirts or tops so we can create a variety of looks during your session.

If you’re unsure about what to wear, feel free to send me a photo of your options I’ll happily give you honest feedback. A good rule of thumb: if it’s distracting in any way, skip it. Avoid busy patterns and loud or neon colors, especially for business headshots.

And finally, get a good night’s sleep and drink plenty of water the day before. Looking well-rested makes a real difference in your photos!
